Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne stars as Lili Elbe, one of the first known people to undergo gender reassignment surgery. Born Einar Wegener, she gradually realised that she was a woman trapped in a man's body. In the 1920s, such a thing was unheard of. The surgery had never been attempted before. But it was Lili's only chance to be the person she was supposed to be. A moving drama about a timely, untold story, 'The Danish Girl' also stars Alicia Vikander and is directed by Academy Award winner Tom Hooper. Oscar nominated for best actor.
